The experiment Zodiacal Light and Airglow Photography provided a series of excellent photographs of the planet Venus. Synoptic Weather Photography documented many weather patterns and events for meteorological studies. Synoptic Terrain Photography was devoted to the study of the Earth terrain, and produced numerous useful pictures usable for geology, geography or oceanography. Several types of photography experiments were conducted on Gemini 10. Collins became the first human in space to visit and make contact with a free-floating satellite. The G-10 crew approached the Agena 8 as closely as possible, then Astronaut Collins performed a spacewalk to the target using a nitrogen-fueled 'space gun' to provide propulsion through space. After being docked to the Agena 10 for 39 hours, the crew separated and headed towards the Agena 8 target vehicle this Agena rocket had been used as a target during Gemini 8 and then left behind in Earth orbit after the Gemini 8 mission.
